Oh my yes! Realer than real, is Oxnard. So real, MiAmor and his 5 siblings where raised there, though most have fled, taking their childhood memories and spinning them into creative gold. Three are cartoonists, one is a musician, and another does all kinds of high-level crafts. I don't think it's the water...

It's tucked along the SoCal coast, between Santa Barbara and Malibu (its much more well-to-do neighbors), and is the Strawberry Capital of someplace or other (the nation? the state?). In any case, we had a lovely time, but are so, so happy to be home!
