Happy Nigel Tufnel Day to
beer_good_foamy . Turn it up to eleven, babe!
Of course, it's also Armistice Day, Remembrance Day, and Veterans' Day. The name may change, but the sentiment is constant. I continue to be amazed that we can commemorate our fallen — everybody's fallen, actually — with a poppy or a minute of silence, and then turn around and throw more precious young humans into the charnel house. Don't mind me. Maybe I'm the crazy one.
On that note, here's a bit of mayhem I posted in honor of the 90th anniversary of the the end of The War to End All Wars(TM):
Tipperary (1916) Spike/Drusilla
At loose ends in war time, Spike and Dru decide to check out the big show.
I wish you and yours a peaceful holiday.
A bit of fandom stuff:
I belatedly made a banner for my seasonal_spuffy story, Feels Like Heaven, and although it can't hold a candle to the fantastic work my talented friends create, MiAmor thought is was neat, so I put it up on the story page. Feel free to stop by and take a peek. (I used to be semi-okay with Photoshop, but the skills, they are rusty.)
In other news, I was notified that I've been nominated for the Bloody Brilliant (Best Author) Award in Round 9 of the Running with Scissors Awards, which is awesome and makes me feel v. v. nice. It's also mystifying, since there don't seem to be any corresponding story nominations. Except for that funny little Giles fic, which might be cute but hardly puts me into "Best Author" range, methinks. Perhaps we are not the best judges of our own work. Still, this definitely falls into the "It's an honor just to be nominated" category, and I am indeed honored.
