I'm not sure what it was, exactly. Apparently I made a threat? A rape joke? I quite certain I did nothing of the kind. I did disagree with Mark about several things:
1. Whether Buffy consented to sex with Spike. (I say yes.) 2. Whether depressed women should be allowed to make their own sexual choices. (I say yes.) 3. Whether people should be allowed to find the Smashed sex scene "hot". (I say it's none of his damn business.) 4. Whether Buffy's use of violence was proportional and justified. (I say no.)
It was that last one that really set him off. Although he was really upset with many of his followers for "upvoting" things of which he disapproved. One of his mods was all over the place making accusations of "rape apology" to anybody who dared to think that Buffy saying "no" but doing the opposite indicated anything other than "no". I'd say, "take it up with the show's writers", but what's the point?
So, yeah. It's going to be ugly. Fans of Season 6, gird your loins!
