I do think it's mostly for show. He likes to flirt, he knows he can attract women, but it's got nothing to do with how he feels about Buffy. (Or Dru, probably, back in the day). He did use his charm in season 7 when the First was controlling his behavior. Had no trouble knowing how to pick up girls in bars.
I think you can be "love's bitch" and still sex on legs and willing to enjoy some of the perks. And he has that y chromosome going for him, so naked women and porn... probably a thing, just not one we saw much of of on the show.
