Some sweet person dove into the vaults and nominated one of my early fics, The Scourge Does Titipu (Fanged Four circa 1885), for Best Song Fic in Round 23 of the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfic Awards! The song? The sun, whose rays are all ablaze... from Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado. Because, well, why not? I'm tickled that anybody is still reading it, let alone liking it enough to nom it! Thanks, kind nominator!

Also, there's still time to vote in [community profile] the_hellmouth_awards! Go check out the exciting rare pair nominees, then VOTE! Some categories are judged, some are decided by readers' choice, but all are worth your perusal. Full disclosure: I have a story nommed in one of the open categories (Best Drabble/Ficlet), but so are some really excellent little fics, so you'll be spoiled for choice.

My not so terrible tale of woe is that I have got so many fic/fandom projects going, it's sort of ridiculous. Especially since I can't seem to finish a danged one of 'em.

1. 2 polls for fantas_magoria, having to do with a) how we're doing and b) what's the what with Angel!humanity in IWRY vs. Shanshu in L.A.
2. My entry in the unofficial "fire escape post-S8" ficathon. It's needed, oh, approximately one paragraph for about 3 weeks now.
3. My Nertz to You, JW entry, with an early-S8 Xander and Dawn sitting around talking. Oh, the banter! Oh, the lack of graceful denouement!
4. My  January nekid numbers challenge fic, a rollicking AtS S5 adventure with mistaken identities and old frenemies reunited! It just keeps growing.
5. My Gallifrey One con report or, How I Spent My Wonderful Weekend with Jane Espenson. I've already got 4,000 words written, more than probably anybody actually wants to read. Still to go: the final afternoon, plus the requisite photoshopping of the photo collage I have planned (contains no Jane). Maybe it's just too much...

That's not even to mention:

1. The AtS S5 Spuffy WIP, which just needs some adjustments to the third chapter...since May 2010.
2. The Weird Love essay, with special emphasis on Spike/Buffy circa Intervention. Dropped in August. I wonder why?
3. The tempting prompts of the  Historical Slayers ficathon and "Myths & Legends" month at still_grrr are like sirens. Hey! Bunny!
4. Assorted other dribs and drabs, including the yet to be conceived Seasonal_Spuffy offering.

Any words of wisdom or particular preferences? I just want to close the deal on something! Anything!

So, I quite naturally turn to watching a bunch of animated films, instead. In the past 10 days, I've seen Paprika, How To Train Your Dragon, Megamind, The Illusionist, and Rango. They're all good. So were The Social Network and Easy A. I also discovered Better Off Ted, the sparkling no-laugh-track office comedy for people who don't watch The Office. Thanks, streaming Netflix. Now I'll never get anything done.

My God, woman! I think you need to get a hobby. LOL

There's a fire-escape post season 8 ficathon? I presume by "unofficial" you mean any fics that start or take place there, but no official community for them?

Congrats on the nom. It's always nice when you find that someone is still reading the things you wrote long ago. (gives me warm fuzzies)
