I don't know about y'all, but I felt a few pounds lighter after Mr. President, Sir (as he will henceforth be known in my heart) finished taking the oath of office. All without Jenny Craig!

I was watching with a few friends, and they all seemed pretty enthused, as well:

Highlights, for me, from his call to arms were:
a) to put away childish things (says the gal with the dollies)
b) the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet
c) restore science to its rightful place
d) we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals
e) those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist
f) we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.

Doesn't that last one sound like he knows a little about the demon-fighting business?

MiAmor pulled the stars and stripes out of storage, and hung it in front of our lavender-n-plum painted lady. I've been advocating for a triple flagpole for the last, oh, eight years, on the theory that if we don't fly the flag, we're just letting the other guys have it. Plus, I think it'll look pretty next to the rainbow flag. He thinks it's putting a hole in the siding. Maybe I can parlay this new wave of good feeling into final victory!

It could be that picture influencing me, but is it weird I heard that in Wesley's voice?

Also, I'm sure you feel pounds lighter due to that hair brained monkey finally off of your back :P

It's totally Wesley! Watcher-speak. It's still inspiring, though.

About the former Exec: Isn't it interesting how someone with so little gravitas can weight so heavily on a person's psyche?

Absolutely, though I'm sure the agony stemmed more from a simpleton having such a grand position of power. At least, that's how it felt to me ;)
