I succumbed to
clawofcat's offer. So, now I must make my dubious skills available for your pleasure.
The first FIVE people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/characters (from Buffy). If you'd rather have a limerick than a drabble, that'll work. It would be swell if, in return, those five people post this in their journals, and offer drabbles or icons or something. Haiku? You get the drift. You don't have to, though. Anyway, requests of rare-ish characters would be especially fun for me to do, but it's not required.
In other news, I got a pretty pretty for my little awards show fic:

They've gone to monthly voting over at
still_grrr, so it's a slightly larger pool these days. I was really surprised to get this, especially as I was pretty sure that
deird1 was going to sweep the field in February! Her absolutely brilliant fic, Bureaucracy, finished out of the money, through some weird fluke, but that's no reason not to immediately run over to her journal and read it now. Linkety link to "Bureaucracy"!
Things have been hopping for me on LJ. My
seasonal_spuffy day went by, and not without comment, thank you all very much! ETA: I just found out that With This Ring is nominated in Round 9 of the Rogue Poet Awards!

It's in both the Short and Lighthearted categories. Lighthearted? I inserted actual angst, I'm sure I did. Once or twice, anyway. Once again, thank you to whichever of you did this! I'm so excited.
This weekend, I've got a
seasonal_sd (Spike/Dru) post to do, but have I started? No, I have not. I guess it'll be another historical, because they're fun to do. Does anybody know of anything really cool that happened in the late 19th century or the 20th century? Anyone?

Date: 2009-04-28 09:28 pm (UTC)Let me clarify, though. When you say "sth" do you mean Season 5 Angel/Fred? I'm kinda blurry on the other Angel seasons, alas.

2. Watching a "flicker" in the silent movie era, and perhaps Dru's reaction to on-screen Lillian Gish or Theda Bara or...hee, Nosferatu!
3. 1965: Stalking Twiggy through Carnaby Street and deciding at the last minute that she's too tiny to be a proper meal.

I think there might be another one along these lines, as well. *sigh* So much good fic, so little time.

and
“You almost hit that old lady stepping into the street,” Drusilla accused, daintily tucking her hair behind her ears. Since the car was open-air it whipped right out again, but she didn’t seem to notice. “Go back and try again!”
LMAO! PERFECT Dru.

Date: 2009-04-29 07:26 am (UTC)How about something (topically) Depression based? All those displaced persons in so many areas of the world, what a food opportunity.
1900 World's Fair in Paris is just awesome - first escalators, talking films, art nouveau, diesel engines, masses of people just begging to be eaten (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1900_World%27s_Fair) - it's a minor obsession of mine since I saw a brilliant exhibition on the art section. Honestly I think they were in China at this point, but what the heck, I share the fixation freely.

I keep missing the boat on the drabble meme, but it's prolly just as well since I'm about to go into self-imposed seasonal_spuffy exile. Wish me the luck.
Happy almost-Friday to you, friend.
