Drabble Fulfillment: It's hard! So, I cheated!

writercon100, because it raises money for a worthy cause (scholarships!) and I didn't want to spam my f-list with loads of itty bitty fics. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer to put drabbles on drabble forums, because I figure readers there don't mind the bite-sized portion so much. Follow the links below, if you're so inclined.

Also, I hooked yet another RL friend on Buffy yesterday. Good and proper. All it took was Pangs, Something Blue, and Hush, all in a row. I'm sure her cute new girlfriend, giggling beside her on the couch, had nothing whatsoever to do with the good feelings the show engendered. Nor the chocolate. Heh. Sent her off with Season 1 tucked under her arm. She'll be back.

So, what I want to know is, where's my toaster?

The first FIVE people to comment in this post get to request a drabble of any pairing/characters (from Buffy). If you'd rather have a limerick than a drabble, that'll work. It would be swell if, in return, those five people post this in their journals, and offer drabbles or icons or something. Haiku? You get the drift. You don't have to, though. Anyway, requests of rare-ish characters would be especially fun for me to do, but it's not required.

still_grrr, so it's a slightly larger pool these days. I was really surprised to get this, especially as I was pretty sure that

deird1 was going to sweep the field in February! Her absolutely brilliant fic, Bureaucracy, finished out of the money, through some weird fluke, but that's no reason not to immediately run over to her journal and read it now. Linkety link to "Bureaucracy"!

Things have been hopping for me on LJ. My

seasonal_spuffy day went by, and not without comment, thank you all very much! ETA: I just found out that With This Ring is nominated in Round 9 of the Rogue Poet Awards!

It's in both the Short and Lighthearted categories. Lighthearted? I inserted actual angst, I'm sure I did. Once or twice, anyway. Once again, thank you to whichever of you did this! I'm so excited.

This weekend, I've got a

seasonal_sd (Spike/Dru) post to do, but have I started? No, I have not. I guess it'll be another historical, because they're fun to do. Does anybody know of anything really cool that happened in the late 19th century or the 20th century? Anyone?

A couple things plus ... Fic: Voodoo Chile

First I want to wish Happy Birthday! Good Health! Happiness! to

sockmonkeyhere, whose birthday it might not be, since the little minx doesn't post that particular tidbit anymore. I also want to take this opportunity to beg her, again, to give us more In Dreams. Chapter 11 just won't leave my head, what with the the Willow jumping to an Angel/Oz conclusion, and Angel clumsily hacking out a "miss ya" e-mail to Nina. (I recc'ed it at

buffyversetop5, and I'd do it again, in a heartbeat.) It's great stuff, Socky! We haven't forgotten!

Second, is anybody else having the weird LJ userpic swap? A couple of times, I've had userpics just turn into something else. For instance, earlier this week, my homemade Spike/Dru icon turned into Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen is a fine entertainer and all, but I DON'T HAVE ANY OF HER ICONS! The first time it happened, I ended up with little collegiate cartoons of beer, instead of my usual cakes and Spike, so I changed my password. But then it happened again, and now I'm feeling tech challenged. How does this dad-blamed thing work?

Third, I'm a little nervous about posting this fic, as it didn't go where I intended. Not the era, not the style, not the content. It was supposed to be a 100-word drabble about lighting a cigarette. However, I am sick of not posting anything, so I'm gonna chance it. I'm just not sure if anybody will think it's interesting. It's another historical, but hardly what you'd call ancient history. If you disagree with that assessment, may I just say: Hey! Watch it!
